At ITJ Zona Esmeralda, youngest students develop strong values and language skills from the very beginning. Through immersive English learning and skill-building in a nurturing environment, they lay solid foundations for future academic and personal success. Our curriculum focuses on seven key areas of learning, with three core areas dedicated to supporting personal development and essential foundational skills.
Grow in confidence and empathy Students build friendships and learn to manage emotions through play, group activities and daily routines. They develop empathy, resilience and independence, growing confident in social situations and learning how to navigate their feelings with care and respect.
Develop confident communication At ITJ, students engage in meaningful conversations, listen to stories and participate in playful activities that strengthen vocabulary and comprehension. Through songs and role-play, they grow confident in expressing thoughts, asking questions and sharing ideas.
Express themselves Students improve balance, coordination and strength through movement, dance and outdoor play. They develop both gross and fine motor skills while discovering the importance of physical activity, teamwork and perseverance in a joyful, active environment.
Building literacy foundations At our private school in Ciudad López Mateos, students develop early literacy exploring sounds and letters in an active, multisensory way. They begin to make connections between spoken and written language through games, songs, and storytelling.
Discovering numbers through play In Mathematics, students explore numbers, shapes and patterns, working hands-on with objects, puzzles and games. They solve problems, ask questions, and develop logical thinking, building a solid foundation in mathematics through playful, everyday experiences.
Discover communities Students investigate the world around them through stories, experiments, and observation. They ask questions, make connections, and develop curiosity about people, places, animals, and environment, laying the groundwork for future learning and discovery.

At our international Nursery, everyday is filled with exciting learning experiences and discoveries for your child. While timetables vary across the year groups, here’s an example of what happens in our Nursery class.
9:00 amChildren arrive and ease into the day through calm routines, gentle play and warm interactions with caregivers in a safe, nurturing environment.
11:00 amStudents enjoy a nutritious, age-appropriate meal, followed by quiet time, cuddles or light play as needed, supporting their comfort and well-being.
By 12:00 pm Children are picked up after a morning filled with care, sensory exploration and social bonding, ready to rest at home.

In our international Nursery, students play and learn in English throughout their day, discovering it in songs, stories, and activities. They also start learning Spanish letters, sounds, and simple words in a fun way. Through French games, songs, and basic words, students enjoy their first steps into a new language.
With curiosity leading the way, students grow as little multilingual learners, having fun while exploring new sounds, words, and ideas every day.
What I enjoy most about working at ITJ Zona Esmeralda is seeing how happy and eager to discover the world the children are. During my eight years here, I’ve watched them grow into confident individuals — and that’s what I find most rewarding, because we are happy teachers with happy children, learning together and working towards a shared goal.
