In November 2023, fourteen of our high school students embarked on a unique adventure at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida. For a week, our students were immersed in an educational experience that combined exploration, technology, and a touch of fun.The first two days at the Kennedy Space Center were extraordinary. The students toured the vast complex on a bus trip that revealed every corner of the center. From the historic launch pads to the iconic space shuttle Atlantis, every facet of NASA's epicenter became a stage for their learning. One of the highlights of the trip was the coding course, in which the students programmed robots to perform precise maneuvers. Working in teams, they competed in friendly competitions, pitting their programmed creations against each other. At the end of this interactive experience, they received personalized certificates of participation, a testament to their newfound coding skills. Best of all, a distinguished guest speaker, a former NASA astronaut, captivated them with stories of space exploration, inspiring the next generation of cosmic dreamers. While the days at NASA were filled with scientific wonders, the afternoons provided a change of pace. On the second day, the students explored the enchanting Disney Springs, a shopping and entertainment complex, while on the third day they enjoyed a thrilling session at iFLY Indoor Skydiving in Orlando, pushing the limits of gravity in a controlled environment. The fourth day ramped up the excitement with a visit to Universal Studios Orlando, where the students spent a full day immersed in the magic of cinematic adventures. The fifth day took them to the enchanting realm of Disney's Hollywood Studios, where they encountered some of the most iconic movie sets and thrilling attractions. To add a touch of medieval charm, the students spent an evening at Medieval Times, where they enjoyed a feast fit for knights and nobles while being entertained by a live jousting and chivalric show.Amidst all the excitement and entertainment, the trip also served as an incredible learning experience. The students improved their teamwork and problem-solving skills through the coding competition. They gained a deeper understanding of space exploration and technology and witnessed firsthand humanity's progress in space travel. The trip wasn't limited to science and technology, but encompassed a wide range of experiences, from the glamour of Hollywood to the magical kingdoms of Disney. Interacting with people from different parts of the world added a cultural dimension, fostering a global perspective among our students.Above all, the trip served as an English language immersion experience. Our students were motivated to practice and improve their language skills in an English-speaking country, breaking down language barriers and connecting with others on a global scale. As the final chapter of our journey unfolded, the students carried away more than just memories; they carried memories not only of a trip, but of an odyssey where science, technology, entertainment, and cultural exchange merged to create an unforgettable learning and adventure experience. The November 2023 trip to NASA will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of these fourteen young explorers, igniting a flame of curiosity and ambition that will undoubtedly shape their future.View this post on Instagram A post shared by ITJ Santa Mónica (@itjmexico_sm)Testimonials:Jos: "I want to express my gratitude to Professor Jenny for accompanying us.
