On February 9th, ITJ Santa Monica witnessed an event that marked a turning point in the school's recent history: the return of Fashion Fest, an emblematic event that had been absent for five years. The initiative, which has resurfaced with renewed vigor, was made possible thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of two outstanding high school students, Ximena and Constanza.Fashion Fest not only returned with a bang but exceeded expectations by bringing together 140 middle and high school students, who played essential roles in the event as designers, models, musicians, hosts, and audio, video, and general support staff. More than 500 people gathered to witness the creativity and talent of the young people, who presented dazzling outfits inspired by the theme of biodiversity.Constanza, Ximena, and the Jury: The task of evaluating the designs was not easy, and it was carried out by representatives from renowned educational institutions such as Anáhuac University, Ibero-American University, Pan-American University (UP), and the University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP), who also sponsored the prizes for the winners. Students from various generations stood out in the top spots of Fashion Fest, demonstrating exceptional talent and a commitment to creativity and innovation.Among the most notable awards was Best Design, given to Ivana de León and Natalie Fonseca, 7th-grade students, for their creation "Clean Ocean." This design captured the attention and recognition of the jury for its originality and inspiring message. In the Best Model category, the award went to Santiago Sánchez, a 10th-grade student, whose runway walk and stage presence captivated the audience and the jury alike.Finally, the Master Award was given to the team that accumulated the most points and stood out for its excellence in all aspects of the event. This honor went to the team comprised of Sofía De La Torre, Montserrat De La Torre, and Isabella Vega, with their "Zero Waste" design. Their innovative approach and commitment to sustainability made a great impression at Fashion Fest, highlighting their vision and masterful execution.These students demonstrate that creativity, passion, and commitment can transcend generational barriers and leave a mark on the world of fashion and artistic expression. Fashion Fest is not only a significant event in the student sphere but also leaves an invaluable imprint on our community.
